So you think domain names are expensive and not relevant to your company’s success?

From Doorbot to RING.com to a cool $1,000,000,000 deal with Amazon!!!  I was reading the business news when I saw an article in regards to the RING company selling to Amazon for a cool billion $.

After a little research I figured out that this company used to be called Doorbot?, and the CEO decided to acquire RING.COM and change their name.  Fewer people know that RING.com was owned by a doctor in Minnesota and the CEO of Doorbot made a payment deal to purchase Ring.com

Ring.com was acquired for $1,000,000USD in two payments. The buyer, Jamie Siminoff  said  getting the domain name was critically important to the company’s success, giving them an unforgettable brand and instant credibility that helped turn their product into a household name.

The CEO of Ring.com also stated that he would estimate the name turned out to be worth between $30 million and $50 million to the company.

Fast forwarding 5 years into 2018 the company Ring sold to Amazon for $1,000,000,000USD. Hatts off to you Mr. Siminoff, for having the courage to buy such a name and to dominate your industry!

Do you still think a five, six or seven figure domain is to expensive?

There are those who compete, and those who dominate……
