Yesterday Elon Musk announced that he quit OPEN AI. He co-founded this Artificial Intelligence Group a few years back, and now they are not getting along. Open AI developed AI that can generate “Fake News”. A few days back this group announced they have managed to train an AI language model called “GPT-2”. From my understanding they fed the “AI beast” with a sample of 40GB of Internet text data. This test resulted in the GPT-2 AI generating text that adapts to the style of content and predicts next words. Creepy enough?
This is a huge breakthrough in the AI field, that can be used in a positive way for “speech recognition robots, phones etc”. At the same time people are worried that this new AI technology will be used to generate “Fake News”, “impersonate other people online” or even used for “spamming comments on social media” etc.
Elon Musk believes AI can turn humans into endangered species.
