My favorite quote of 2018 and why

“If you don’t have ALWAYS in your life, you end up with NEVER” 

Since 2017 I made a decision and commitment to read and educate myself every day. So in 2018 I spent quite a bit of time and money to invest in myself via books, webinars, tools etc. A commitment to me means I have to invest my time and money! Commitments without investing both time and money are not real commitments.

The best money I have ever spent in 2018 was a $30 webinar. In this webinar Uncle G. was talking about how he implements and runs his businesses. He presented this quote in a similar form and since it made a huge impact on me I decided to adopt it and compile a list. I printed my list, laminated the list and I refer and read this list almost every single day.

So what does the quote mean? Well simply put and distilled down – If you don’t ALWAYS do something, you will most likely end up NEVER doing it. So Uncle G. gave some examples of things that his team and companies ALWAYS DO, no matter what. Mind opening stuff, I was inspired and made my own list that applies to my life and business.  I saw immediate results in 2018 and now this quote is a principle that I use daily.

Example: if you find yourself saying ” I should read more..”, “I should call that person back,,”, “I should get in shape..” etc etc then you need to make your own list of things you “ALWAYS” must do. The words “should” and “problems” I removed from my vocabulary…that’s another topic.

My list of things I ALWAYS do is simple but very powerful. No matter what happens I ALWAYS DO these things, and here are a few in no particular order:

Always Read 10 pages a day.

Always make the call even if you don’t know what to say.

Always follow up with everybody.

Always – Do whatever you need to do to get bigger then life every single day.

-Be professional, no matter the situation or what happens.

-get consistent and persistent every single day.

-know that strangers have everything you ever wanted.

-educate and never stop educating in life.

-reconsider and never give up, a surprise is just around the corner.

-know that you must get attention and break thru the noise of the Universe.

-know that ACTION is greater “>” then THINKING

etc etc etc

So what’s the impact on my life and business?

Just a few weeks ago I was dealing with an obnoxious client that got loud and decided to be unprofessional over the phone when I presented my proposal and pricing. So with much difficulty I managed to keep my cool and stay professional. This took about a month of back and forth “hostile negotiations” with the prospect.  I remember the morning after Christmas my girlfriend says “Oh no, you gonna call back X today? How can you put up with that? he’s a complete xxxx” I replied saying, “If I don’t transact with this guy I have NOT helped him, and then you are right it would all have been for nothing.” Made the 32nd contact with the prospect and closed the deal that morning!

 

That’s why I say, if you don’t ALWAYS make the call, if you don’t ALWAYS read the book, if you don’t ALWAYS take action then you will end up NEVER doing it!!!
